The Premier of KwaZulu-Natal, Honourable Thamsanqa Ntuli, has formally concurred with the renewal of the contract of the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, for a second term, following a meeting with the South African Police Service National Commissioner, General Fannie Masemola.

During the roadblock, Premier Ntuli engaged directly with motorists, passengers, and other road users, checking on their safety and wishing them a safe and secure journey as they travelled during the busy holiday period.

During interactions with beachgoers, Premier Ntuli emphasised that safety remains a top priority for the Provincial Government and all law enforcement agencies as KwaZulu-Natal ushers in the New Year.
