The significance of the summit was highlighted by its role as a platform for young entrepreneurs to share their visions, exchange ideas, and build connections that promise future success. As emphasised by Premier Ntuli, this event was far from being a mere talk shop; it was a platform committed to delivering tangible and visible results. A steadfast commitment was also made to showcase the beneficiaries of the R100 million Youth Empowerment Fund across various municipal districts.
In his opening address, Premier Ntuli highlighted the pressing need to empower youth-owned businesses in KwaZulu-Natal. He emphasised the province’s rich entrepreneurial potential and the government’s commitment to addressing youth unemployment, development, and financial backing for youth enterprises. Premier Ntuli pointed out that the government, along with social partners, was dedicated to reversing the tide of youth disillusionment, poverty, and unemployment.
Premier Ntuli will lead the Executive Council in hosting a two-day Youth in Business Summit which will provide a platform for engagement between Government and the youth.
