The event brought together faith-based leaders from across the province to engage in dialogue on how spiritual leadership can play a more proactive role in addressing the deepening crises of crime and gender-based violence in KwaZulu-Natal communities.
In his statement, Premier Ntuli described the situation as no longer a legal or administrative matter, but one of human dignity, economic justice, and public interest. Over the past five months, the provincial government had vigorously defended Ithala, recognizing it not just as a financial institution but as a cornerstone of inclusive economic growth, empowerment, and financial access for historically excluded communities.
KwaZulu-Natal Premier, Honourable Thami Ntuli, had the honour of welcoming South Africa’s Deputy President, Honourable Paul Mashatile, to the 2025 Africa’s Travel Indaba, held at the Durban International Convention Centre.
