The 2024 Women’s Parliament was themed "CELEBRATING 30 YEARS OF DEMOCRACY: ACCELERATE EQUITY AND STRENGTHEN WOMEN DEVELOPMENT," reflecting on the progress made since the dawn of democracy and the continuing efforts to empower women across all sectors of society.
As the country observes the 29th National Women’s Day, the Premier of KwaZulu-Natal, Hon. Thamsanqa Ntuli, will lead the provincial commemoration under the theme “Inspiring New Hope Towards Women Development and a Prosperous Province.” This will be the first commemoration under the 7th Administration.
In a concerted efforts to rid communities of illegal firearms, police in KwaZulu-Natal have recovered and seized 313 firearms during province-wide operations which also saw the arrest of 11 003 suspects for various crimes in the month of July.
