AmaZulu FC were crowned the 2026 KZN Premier’s Cup champions after defeating Milford FC 2-0 in the final held at Princess Magogo Stadium on Sunday, 26 July 2026.

KwaZulu-Natal Premier, Honourable Thamsanqa Ntuli, handed over the Premier’s Cup to AmaZulu FC and congratulated the team on their victory.

Premier Ntuli praised the tournament for its contribution to sport development, social cohesion and local economic activity, particularly in township and rural communities.

“The Premier’s Cup benefits hawkers who sell their wares during the game,” said Premier Ntuli.

“The hospitality industry also reaps economic rewards as hotels accommodate people from afar to watch games.”

The Premier said sporting events such as the KZN Premier’s Cup play an important role beyond the field of play, as they bring communities together, create economic opportunities and promote unity.

“Most importantly, sport unites communities by eradicating crime and forging social cohesion,” said Premier Ntuli.

Premier Ntuli further stated that he had instructed that sport be promoted in townships and rural areas as part of efforts to discourage crime, drug and alcohol abuse, and other social challenges facing communities.

The Premier said the Provincial Government remains committed to using sport as a vehicle for youth development, community mobilisation, economic participation and social stability.

He commended all participating teams, supporters, organisers, vendors and stakeholders for contributing to a successful tournament.

The 2026 KZN Premier’s Cup reaffirmed the province’s commitment to promoting football, strengthening communities and ensuring that major sporting events contribute meaningfully to township and rural economies.
