KwaZulu-Natal Premier, Honourable Thamsanqa Ntuli, will lead Members of the Executive Council in an Operation Sukuma Sakhe Cabinet Day outreach programme scheduled to take place in the Richmond and uMkhambathini Municipalities on Wednesday, 4 March 2026.
The initiative forms part of government’s ongoing commitment to strengthening community engagement and ensuring that service delivery interventions respond directly to the needs of residents at local level. Operation Sukuma Sakhe serves as an integrated service delivery programme aimed at bringing government closer to communities through coordinated action across departments.
The day’s programme will officially convene at 11h00 at the Richmond Primary School Sports Field, where Premier Ntuli and the provincial Cabinet will engage with community members and present key government programmes and interventions being implemented across the province. The engagement will provide residents with an opportunity to raise concerns, share experiences, and interact directly with government leadership.
Prior to the main engagement, the Premier and Members of the Executive Council will commence the day at 08h00 with oversight visits to various government projects within wards across the Richmond and uMkhambathini Municipalities. These visits are intended to assess progress on service delivery initiatives, monitor implementation on the ground, and identify areas requiring further intervention or support.
The outreach underscores the Provincial Government’s commitment to responsive governance, accountability, and participatory democracy by ensuring that communities play an active role in shaping development outcomes within their respective areas.
Community members attending the event are reminded that political party regalia will not be permitted. Residents requiring transport arrangements are encouraged to liaise with their local leadership structures for assistance.
The Operation Sukuma Sakhe Cabinet Day reflects KwaZulu-Natal’s continued efforts to advance integrated development, improve service delivery, and strengthen partnerships between government and citizens under the banner of building a province that inspires new hope.
