PREMIER NTULI CONDEMNS THE TREND OF WITHDRAWAL OF GBV&F CASES

Ntuli also expressed deep concern after being briefed about a number of unsolved cases of murder and attempted murder at KwaMadlala area.
Ntuli directed law enforcement, particularly Southport SAPS, to intensify their investigations and apprehend all the perpetrators of such heinous crimes.
The Honourable Premier also appealed to community members and representatives of Community Safety structures to be the eyes and ears and report all drug dens to law enforcement agencies.
Acting District SAPS Commissioner, Brigadier Kaap, reported that law enforcement is concerned about the staggering high number of illegal and unlicensed liquor outlets operating within KwaMadlala.
"The high number of unlicensed liquor outlets is a serous cause for concern. The consumption of alcohol is a causal factor of crimes such as house robberies, assault and GBV&F," commented hounourable Ntuli.
Furthermore, the Premier called on stakeholders to conduct collaborative integrated operations to assess and enforce the adherence to set operational guidelines to regulate how licensed liquor traders operate within the community.
Earlier on, Honourable Ntuli engaged with 420 members of voluntary community crime-fighting structures from 36 wards within the Ray Nkonyeni Local Municipality.
During this engagement, Ntuli reaffirmed provincial government's commitment to professionalise and capacitate all community crime fighting structures to equip them to efficiently curb the scourge of crime.
