KwaZulu-Natal Premier Thamsanqa Ntuli visited the Khombe Police Station and met with community safety structures ahead of a major Crime-Fighting Imbizo in eQhudeni.
Nkandla – KwaZulu-Natal Premier Thamsanqa Ntuli, in his capacity as the Executive Authority for the Department of Community Safety and Liaison, has reaffirmed his commitment to tackling crime and strengthening cooperation between police and communities.
Ahead of the provincial Crime-Fighting Imbizo in eQhudeni under the King Cetshwayo District Municipality, Premier Ntuli visited the Khombe Police Station to engage directly with the station’s leadership on operational challenges and crime prevention efforts.
As a resident of Nkandla himself, the Premier is well-acquainted with the area’s realities and policing environment. However, he emphasised that his visit was not only personal but also part of his responsibility as Premier and the political head of the province’s safety portfolio.
“We cannot win the war on crime without understanding the lived experiences of our communities and those who serve on the frontline,” Premier Ntuli said.
Following the station visit, Premier Ntuli held a meeting with local community crime prevention agencies. The discussions focused on strengthening collaboration between law enforcement and residents, addressing resource constraints, and exploring new strategies to reduce crime in eQhudeni and surrounding areas.
The Premier commended community safety volunteers and local structures for their dedication and encouraged continued unity in confronting criminal elements.
“Our fight against crime requires partnership, commitment, and trust between the police and the people. Together, we can build safer communities,” he said.
