Pietermaritzburg – Today, 18 June 2025, marks the first anniversary of the KwaZulu-Natal Government of Provincial Unity — a pioneering and inclusive governance model comprising the IFP, ANC, DA, and NFP, united in service to the people of KwaZulu-Natal.
This milestone reflects a bold step towards putting the needs of citizens above political differences and embracing a spirit of cooperation in pursuit of inclusive growth, poverty reduction, and the building of a capable, ethical, and developmental state.
Reflecting on this occasion, the Premier of KwaZulu-Natal, Honourable Thamsanqa Ntuli, stated:
“As leaders from different political formations, we are entrusted with the hopes of the people of KwaZulu-Natal. This moment calls on us to lead beyond faction, to govern beyond narrow interests, and to deliver for all citizens — regardless of how they voted or where they live.
The past year has required a new kind of leadership — one that listens more deeply, collaborates more sincerely, and governs more inclusively. While challenges have arisen, our collective commitment has shown that progress is possible when cooperation triumphs over conflict.
As we enter the second year of the 7th Administration, we reaffirm our shared values: unity, accountability, and service. Ultimately, the success of this government will be judged not by manifestos or political alliances, but by the real change we deliver — in the jobs we create, the communities we uplift, and the dignity we restore.”
The KwaZulu-Natal Government of Provincial Unity remains committed to working together across party lines to deliver a better future for all.
As part of the KwaZulu-Natal Government of Provincial Unity’s 1 Year Celebration, Premier Thamsanqa Ntuli and Members of the Executive Council are today engaging directly with the people of iLembe District Municipality through a District Development Model (DDM) Cabinet Day Imbizo.
This milestone engagement forms part of the provincial government’s ongoing commitment to inclusive governance, participatory democracy, and people-centred service delivery.
