On this Mother’s Day, I extend heartfelt greetings and warm wishes to all mothers across the Province of KwaZulu-Natal.
Today, we honour and celebrate the incredible women whose love, resilience, and daily sacrifices hold the fabric of our society together. Mothers are the first teachers, the healers of broken spirits, and the silent heroes behind every success story.
We salute all mothers who continue to serve not only in their homes but also in the public and private sectors, including those serving in the various spheres of government. Your commitment to building a better life for your families and communities contributes immensely to the development of our province.
As we celebrate this special day, we also recognize the growing challenges that threaten the wellbeing of our families — particularly *Gender-Based Violence (GBV)*, *substance abuse*, and the general breakdown of moral values.
I call upon all mothers of KwaZulu-Natal to join hands with government in fighting these and other social ills. Let us work together to protect our children from harm, to raise awareness in our communities, and to build a safer, more compassionate society. Your voice, presence, and leadership at community level are critical in our collective journey toward peace, dignity, and social justice.
On behalf of the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government, I wish you a joyful and peaceful Mother’s Day. May you continue to be pillars of strength, hope, and healing in our society.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers of KwaZulu-Natal.
