Nkandla, KwaZulu-Natal, 8 May 2025 - KwaZulu-Natal Premier, Honourable Thamsanqa Ntuli, widely hailed as the “Trailblazer of Service Delivery” for his bold and people-centred leadership, today led an impactful Integrated Service Delivery Imbizo in Nkandla, under the King Cetshwayo District Municipality. He was accompanied by Members of the Executive Council (MECs), affirming the provincial government’s commitment to bringing services directly to the people.
Premier Ntuli began the day’s programme with the official handover of the Mahlathini Diptank and the Ntingwe Tea Estate—two catalytic projects that are expected to significantly stimulate the local economy, promote agricultural productivity, and create sustainable jobs for the surrounding communities.
As part of the day’s proceedings, Premier Ntuli also honoured six remarkable centenarians who were present at the event. Each received certificates and gifts in recognition of their extraordinary lives and contributions to their communities.
“To have people who are 100 years and above in our midst is a blessing from God. I wish you more years of life, love and laughter,” said Premier Ntuli.
The centenarians honoured were:
• Gogo Gladness Magwaza, 100
• Gogo Mpanza, 101
• Gogo Nikiwe Goqo, 107
• Gogo Mpungose, 111
• Gogo Hleziphi Ntuli, 119

The Integrated Service Delivery Imbizo formed part of the 7th Administration’s efforts to fast-track development and ensure that rural areas receive the same focus and resources as urban centres. It provided a platform for direct engagement between government leaders and local residents, where service delivery challenges and solutions were discussed openly.
Premier Ntuli’s presence in Nkandla reaffirmed the provincial government’s dedication to inclusive growth, rural empowerment, and meaningful change that is felt at grassroots level.
