As part of proactive efforts to combat the scourge of crime and reduce road fatalities, the Premier of KwaZulu-Natal, Hon. Thamsanqa Ntuli, accompanied by KwaZulu-Natal Police Commissioner Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, will lead an Unannounced Provincial Integrated Operation in the high-crime area of Pietermaritzburg. The Premier will also spearhead the Easter Road Safety Campaign, engaging directly with road users.
The Premier is set to unveil comprehensive provincial safety plans to aggressively fight crime through joint law enforcement operations, developed under the auspices of the Justice, Crime Prevention and Security Cluster (JCPS).
These plans will involve the deployment of critical resources to high-impact areas, integrated multi-agency operations, sustained police visibility, and direct interaction with communities, motorists, stakeholders, and congregants.
KwaZulu-Natal is committed to reinstating its Zero Tolerance approach to lawlessness and rooting out crime across all sectors of society.
