Pietermaritzburg, 20 March 2025 – The Office of the Premier (OTP) hosted a moving and spiritually uplifting Prayer Service at Umsunduzi City Hall today, bringing together employees for a moment of reflection and unity ahead of Human Rights Day and the Easter holidays.

The event, led by KwaZulu-Natal Premier, Honourable Thamsanqa Ntuli, was characterized by vibrant singing, heartfelt prayers, and energetic dance, as employees gathered to seek guidance, strength, and healing for the province. In his address, Premier Ntuli emphasized the importance of faith and community, calling on attendees to extend their prayers beyond themselves to those in need.

Prayers for the Vulnerable and Affected Communities

Premier Ntuli urged the OTP staff to hold in their thoughts and prayers the most vulnerable members of society, including the homeless, victims of gender-based violence, and families affected by crime. He also called for collective prayers for those who had suffered in the recent deadly floods that devastated parts of KwaZulu-Natal, leaving many without shelter and livelihoods.

“These are challenging times for our province. Many of our fellow citizens have lost their homes, loved ones, and their sense of security. It is important that as public servants, we not only work to serve our people but also take a moment to pray for them and seek wisdom in how best to assist them,” said Premier Ntuli.
