The ongoing senseless and barbaric killings of women and children continue to hinder the Provincial Government’s efforts to combat gender-based violence.
KwaZulu-Natal Premier, Honourable Thamsanqa Ntuli, will tomorrow, 28 December 2024, join the Makhathini family to pay tribute to Bongeka Makhathini, a gender-based violence victim who was brutally killed alongside an innocent young child by her partner in the Mgababa area.
Premier Ntuli expressed his deep sorrow over this tragedy and reaffirmed the Provincial Government’s commitment to eradicating gender-based violence: "The pain inflicted upon families and communities by gender-based violence is unimaginable. These acts of cruelty are a direct assault on our humanity. As a province, we will not rest until we build a society free of gender-based violence and femicide. We owe it to the victims and their families to continue fighting for justice and safety for all."
