KwaZulu-Natal Premier, Honourable Thamsanqa Ntuli, extends his warmest wishes to the Hindu community on the joyous occasion of Diwali. "On this auspicious day, let us embrace the true spirit of this festival of lights and come together to build a stronger society founded on the values of peace, community, and prosperity for all," said Premier Ntuli.
Diwali rituals include lighting oil lamps (diyas) to signify the victory of light, decorating homes with rangoli designs, exchanging gifts, sharing festive foods, and performing prayers for prosperity. Diwali fosters community spirit, unity, and hope, inspiring all to renew their dedication to harmony, peace, and shared prosperity.
As the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government, we extend our warmest wishes to the Hindu community as they celebrate the vibrant and meaningful festival of Diwali. On this colourful day, we wish to encourage tolerance, unity, and respect within all our communities.
Let us come together to embrace our diversity, fostering mutual understanding and peace that strengthens the fabric of our society.
May this Diwali bring light, joy, and prosperity to all.
