The provincial government of KwaZulu-Natal will host this year’s Freedom Day Celebrations in Ugu Dustrict Municipality.
This year’s instalment of the annual commemoration marks the 30th anniversary since the democratic breakthrough in 1994.
Hosted under the theme: “30 Years of Democracy, Partnership, and Growth”, this year’s event will take stock of what has been achieved over the past thirty years and how partnerships amongst various stakeholders and social partners have contributed to inclusive growth and development.
Led by the Premier of KwaZulu, Nomusa Dube-Ncube, the event will also outline the province’s state of readiness to hold the general elections next month and ensure that the polls are free and fair.
