As we approach the joyous occasion of Eid al-Fitr, the Premier of KwaZulu-Natal Nomusa Dube-Ncube extends warm and heartfelt greetings to all Muslims across the province of KwaZulu-Natal. Eid Mubarak!
“During this auspicious time, Muslims around the world celebrate the end of Ramadan, a month-long period of fasting, prayer, reflection, and community. Ramadan holds significant importance in the Islamic faith as it emphasizes the virtues of compassion, self-discipline, generosity, and solidarity,” said Premier Dube-Ncube.
The Premier said in the spirit of Ramadan, we are reminded of the values that unite us all as members of a diverse and inclusive society. She said the ideals of empathy, respect, and harmony are not only integral to the Islamic faith but also resonate deeply with the principles of the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government.
“As a government committed to serving all communities with fairness and equity, we embrace the principles of social cohesion and religious tolerance. We recognize and celebrate the rich cultural diversity that enriches our province, fostering a climate of understanding and cooperation among people of different backgrounds and beliefs.
“In commemorating Eid al-Fitr, let us reaffirm our shared commitment to building a peaceful and prosperous future for all residents of KwaZulu-Natal. May this festive occasion bring joy, blessings, and renewed strength to you and your loved ones.
“Once again, Eid Mubarak to all those celebrating,” concluded Premier Dube-Ncube.
