The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Government, led by Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube, will host the 13th Annual Provincial Prayer Day in AG Magubane Stadium, Steadville, Ladysmith, on Thursday 22 February 2024.
The Prayer will be hosted in response to the recent floods devastating our communities and concerns about the moral challenges. The prayer will seek solace for the victims of the floods and provide an opportunity for collective reflection on moral values.
Now that His Excellency, President Cyril Ramaphosa, has announced the date for the National and Provincial Elections, the Annual Provincial Prayer will pray for peaceful and incident-free elections.
The Annual Provincial Prayer takes place ahead of the official opening of the Legislature on Tuesday 27 February 2024 and the State of the Province Address which will be delivered by Premier Dube-Ncube on Wednesday 28 February 2024.
Most importantly, the Annual Provincial Prayer will pray for the families whose relatives lost their lives during the devastating floods which engulfed uThukela District and other parts of the province.
The Annual Provincial Prayer will also pray for the defeat of gender-based violence and femicide, as well as other social ills which continue to plague the province.
