“This festival holds a special place in our hearts as it symbolizes the victory of righteousness and the dispelling of ignorance. As we light lamps and illuminate our homes, let us also strive to illuminate our minds with knowledge, compassion, and understanding. Diwali teaches us the importance of unity, tolerance, and respect for one another, values that resonate with the principles we hold dear in our diverse and harmonious province,” said Premier Dube-Ncube.
The Premier said she is grateful for the Hindu community’s dedication to community service and philanthropy. “I encourage everyone, regardless of their background, to join in the celebrations, participate in the festivities, and share in the joy that Diwali brings. Let us embrace the diversity that makes our province strong, and let this festival be a reminder that, despite our differences, we are bound together by our shared humanity.””
