KwaZulu-Natal Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube wishes the Hindu Community well during the Diwali festivities which culminate with the Diwali celebration on Monday, 24 October 2022.
Known as the Festival of Lights, the Premier wishes that the light of Diwali may illuminate and re-ignite the inner soul to reveal the spirit of compassion and consideration that the Hindu Community is known for.
Premier Dube-Ncube applauded the Hindu Community and organisations for always rising to the occasion when the need arose – such as when the province was hit by the floods in April and May.
Premier Dube-Ncube said the Hindu charity organisations and community raised their hands to be counted among those who offered much-needed help to the communities who were displaced and left homeless by the floods.
The Premier said when the province was ravaged by the deadly Covid-19 pandemic, the Hindu Community was always there to lend a helping hand to the afflicted communities.
“As the Hindu Community celebrates Diwali, we hope that the light of compassion that burns within their hearts will continue to warm the homes and souls of those who are less fortunate and desperate for care and kindness.”
“We are hopeful that the Festival of Lights will light the fire that burns away heartaches and restores hope while building firm foundations for social cohesion to thrive. We applaud the Hindu community’s effort in helping the government to fight the triple challenges of poverty, unemployment and inequality prevalent in our society.”
“Happy Diwali to all the Hindu Community in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa and the world,” concluded Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube.
