PARIS: KwaZulu-Natal Premier Mr Senzo Mchunu visited an inner-city renewable energy generation project located on Champs-Elysees in Paris, France.

This project has been set-up to mark COP21, which is promoting the generation of renewable energy.

The project generates 100 percent renewable energy from bicycle and swing. The energy generated through running, pedaling and swinging is used to light up the Champs-Elysees.

A visibly impressed Mchunu, got onto one of the bicycles and pedaled thus making his contribution to this innovative method of energy generation.

He said ,“when we get back home, we need to look into this innovation as it equally contributes to healthy lifestyle whilst contributing to generating energy. We already have a similar concept that we have designated as public outdoor gyms. We can look at how such a concept can be modelled around the same innovation."
