The KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Social Development, Mrs Nonhlanhla Khoza, accompanied by Ugu District Mayor Councilor Mondli Ngcobo, as well as the local leadership, led a Ministerial Gender-Based Violence Awareness Campaign in Port Shepstone earlier today. The awareness comes after a serial killer murdererd 8
women in Mthwalume. These killings caught the attention of the country's President Mr Cyril Ramaphosa and the National Social Development Minister Mrs Lindiwe Zulu who then ordered this quick intervention. MEC led an awareness Campaign at the Port Shepstone taxi rank and uMzumbe Taxi Rank. She also had a meeting with the families of the victims. The South African National Taxi Council (SANTACO) donated sanitizing equipment to uMzumbe and Port Shepstone Taxi Rank to improve passenger safety from Covid 19.
