It was a highly emotional Christmas Eve celebration for the Dlamini family who couldn’t contain their excitement when KwaZulu-Natal MEC for Transport, Community Safety and Liaison Bheki Ntuli handed them keys to their brand new fully-furnished home today, 24 December 2020, in Mabuyeni Reserve near Richards Bay.
MEC Ntuli, who was accompanied by his spouse, Snenhlanhla MaZulu Ntuli, visited the Dlamini family in August this year; and was moved by the plight of the family of seven, including a three-months-old baby, who were living in a dilapidated mud dwelling which was near collapse and offered scant protection from the harsh weather conditions.
After visiting the family, MEC Ntuli immediately set about canvassing the assistance of a local businessman to come to the aid of the Dlamini family.
During the official hand-over today MEC Ntuli was accompanied by his spouse Mrs Ntuli, Umhlathuze Local Municipality Mayor Mduduzi Mhlongo, Businessman Lucky Gumbi and Induna Mngadi.
The Dlamini family was overjoyed and they expressed gratitude that they will spent their first Christmas in a fully-furnished home which is big enough to accommodate their big family.
