The KZN Youth Empowerment Fund is dedicated to supporting the entrepreneurial spirit of the youth in our province. For the 2020/21 Financial Year, we committed R90 million to fund youth-owned businesses, receiving over 4000 applications. Despite delays due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we successfully selected 72 businesses across all 11 Districts, creating over 500 job opportunities. These businesses span various sectors including services, IT, food and restaurants, tyre recycling into fuel/energy, poultry farming, financial and tax advisory, ship maintenance, and textiles.
Building on this success, we are excited to announce an increased fund for the 2024/2025 Financial Year. Applications are now open, and we invite young entrepreneurs to apply.
