KZN Premier T.W Mchunu has congratulated former KZN Premier Sbusiso Ndebele for this event reaching its 20th year. The Premier also spoke on truck drivers blockading of N3 toll plaza "We have identified the issue to be related to the employment of foreign drivers. We’re engaging the community to ensure that. the past events are not repeated". Mchunu said.
President Cyril Ramaphosa delivered the keynote address at the 20th African Renaissance Conference at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre(Durban ICC), KwaZulu-Natal.
Ramaphosa shared his experience on his recent visit to the Volvo plant in Amanzimtoti. His story illustrates the achievement of the AU’s agenda 2063 encompass a collection of stories from Amanzimtoti, Nairobi and other parts of the continent. President also said the killings in this province must come to an end.
The 20th annual African Renaissance Conference organised by the Kwa-Zulu Natal Growth Coalition, the Durban Chamber of Commerce and non-profit organisation, African Renaissance, brings together various stakeholders across the African continent such as business, civic leaders and government representatives to focus on strategies for implementation of inclusive social economic transformation.
The African Renaissance celebrations are held in May each year as part of the Africa Day celebrations.
