The Constitution enjoins public servants to continually maintain high professional and ethical standards in the service of the public.
There is a growing need for ethical and good governance strategies and initiatives as the “I DO RIGHT” campaign to be sustained for them to be effective so that the necessary impact is visible in public administration.
One of the ways is to continuously instil, in all environments, a generally acceptable culture of integrity.
There is a need to unceasingly remind public servants that integrity is a matter of persons “integrating various morally sound parts of their personality into a harmonious, intact whole”.
An integrated approach in this effort is critical.
There is a need to unceasingly remind public servants and civil society that all of us have a duty to –
“DO RIGHT - EVEN WHEN NOBODY IS WATCHING”.
