KZN PREMIER TO ATTEND WREATH LAYING CEREMONY FOR LATE SACP STALWART AND LATER ADDRESS THE MEDIA ON COVID-19 UPDATE
KwaZulu-Premier Sihle Zikalala will on Sunday, 21 June 2020, attend the wreath laying ceremony at the resting place of the late SACP stalwart Harry Gwala in Pietermaritzburg.
The wreath laying ceremony is part of month-long events lined up by the Harry Gwala Foundation to commemorate Gwala's selfless dedication to the struggle for liberation, freedom and democracy.
Gwala was laid to rest at his family home in KwaSwayimane in the uMshwathi area outside Pietermaritzburg.
The Premier will thereafter address a media briefing to give update on Covid-19 as well as the province's readiness for advanced level 3 of the national lockdown.
The Premier will also reflect on the state of the economy and announce measures for a turnaround strategy on the impact of the pandemic on the province's economy.
