KwaZulu-Natal Premier Sihle Zikalala has paid tribute to all workers who are tirelessly providing essential services to their communities during the national Covid-19 lockdown.
The Premier paid homage to essential workers during the annual Workers' Parliament hosted online by the KZN Provincial Legislature.
"If there ever was a time to express our gratitude to workers who risk their lives in service to communities, it is now as the province continues to soldier through the Covid-19 pandemic. To all workers providing essential services, we say thank you," said Zikalala.
The KZN Provincial Government has also taken this opportunity to update the Provincial Legislature on the progress with regards to specific issues and initiatives pertaining to workers and workers' interests in individual government departments.
"As government, we remain committed to ensuring the welfare of workers even as we struggle to contain the Covid-19 pandemic. The measures we have taken in this regard are a balancing act between the need to save lives and the need to save our economy," said Zikalala.
